UCAS Law Unis

Hi! I’m currently in Year 13 and just about to submit my UCAS application. I’m still unsure on all of my uni choices. I’m planning on staying in London (very determined) which means my options aren’t as spread out as I’d like them to be. Unfortunately can’t go Durham 🥲.

What are some good options for Law in London? I want to pick two from UCL/KCL/LSE, then three back-ups to be safe, because I’m not very sure of my grades. I just about reach the band for these unis. I’m thinking of QMUL but they hold their grades at A*AA which is unusual (?) considering the big three are lower.

What are your predicted grades? KCL, LSE and UCL are extremely competitive and require LNAT. It is not impossible that you get no offer from all three even if you meet the grades (A*AA) and have decent LNAT score (say upper 20s).

If London is not negotiable, maybe your only option is applying to all three (KCL, LSE and UCL), taking LNAT and picking two less competitive unis in London like Queen Mary and SOAS. Good luck.

I’ve done the LNAT but I’ll be getting my results in Feb, so I’m not sure on my final score - on practice tests I usually got over 20. I’m predicted AAB, but hoping to apply for contextual as well, so wondering if that’ll increase my chances of getting in? I don’t wan’t to be too ambitious and apply for all of UCL/KCL/LSE.

Thank you!

Thank you!

For London law schools, KCL, LSE, UCL and Queen Mary ask for A*AA; SOAS asks for AAB; City St George's asks for ABB. If you are definitely not moving out of London, you may apply to 3 or all 4 A*AA unis. SOAS or City could be your insurance. Other less competitive London law schools (London Met, LSBU, Greenwich and Westminster) went into Clearing in previous years, and very likely in 2026 so you need not consider these unis at this moment.

Given your location constraint, applying to all of KCL, LSE and UCL may not be unreasonable. Good luck
