open university to degree apprenticeship?

i posted this on the open university forum a month back, but i didn’t get any responses and someone suggested i write it here.

i failed my a levels due to estrangement and other personal issues. i now study mathematics and physics at the open university in my first year. i used to go to an in person university but it really was not for me at all, so i’ve started my degree again at the open uni.

if i finished my first year at the open university, and provided i had some good work experience and good grades, can i make the transition to a degree apprenticeship? if so how? i can’t find much information on this!!

for context i would want to make a pivot to mechanical engineering. i’ve done mechanical engineering internships 2 summers in a row and also have some AutoCAD experience and am working towards certification. the entry requirements always say BBB+ so i’m just wondering if this is even possible to use my OU credits as a substitute for A Level requirements.
