Even if you have your 5 decisions already this is far too early to be making this decision,
You will be invited to Offer visit days in the New Year and that is the time to think really carefully about the course and the reality of being at that Uni.

You have until early June to make this decisions and there is no advantage if making an earlier decision. Your attitude towards each possible choice will flip backwards and forwards and those making very early decisions usually end up regretting what they have done and then realise that they can't change it. So sit on your hands, and wait. Easter id the earliest you should be making a Firm/Insurance decision.

Hey there,

I completely get how you’re feeling! Deciding which uni to choose can honestly feel like the biggest and most stressful decision ever. It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed and the truth is, there isn’t one perfect formula, but there are ways to make the decision feel a bit more manageable.

Start by thinking about where you felt most comfortable when you visited or researched. It’s not just about the course (though that’s super important), it’s also about the vibe. Look at things like the support available, the facilities for your subject, the student community, and even little details like location or cost of living.

At LSBU, for example, a lot of students say they firmed us because of the supportive atmosphere and how personal the experience feels. Many love being in the heart of London, with opportunities for work placements and networking right on their doorstep. So, think about where you’ll thrive.

It’s okay to take your time with it and trust your gut. You’ll end up where you’re meant to be.

You can also chat with our current students on Unibuddy if you’d like to ask about their experiences or what studying at LSBU is really like https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/student-life/chat

I’d really encourage you to join us at our Open Day https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/study-at-lsbu/open-days on the 15th November as you’ll be able to chat with our lecturers, current students, and admissions team to get a real feel for the course and career path.

Hi @banderoi,

Deciding what to study and where to study are important yet stressful decisions. It's important you go through your options, research them and know what you want from your university other than the degree. Is student support important for you, is it the modules or is it the campus? There are many factors to take into account when choosing what university to firm so ask yourself what is important for me. For me, it was feeling welcomed and supported. I wanted to make sure I have great facilities to support my studies but also student support teams such as wellbeing.

Something that helped me with decision making at this stage was attending open days or offer holder days later down the line. During open days you really get to imagine if you could study at the uni or not. You are able to get a feel for the course, the campus and it's location too. Speaking to current students and lecturers also gives you more to think about and consider which is another great aspect of the open day. You can get any questions answered too.

A few other things that helped me in deciding where I ended up studying included a pros and cons lists and visuals such as YouTube videos or social media channels of the university. Pros and cons list are so simple to make and really helped me. What worked for me may not work for you but it's worth a go. I think seeing the positives and negatives written down allowed me to visualise it better and digest it easier. Keeping an eye out on university social media accounts allows you to get a flavour of what your uni experience could be like. Being a visual person this really helped me see that.

Lastly, we do have an open day coming up on 22 November, which you can explore and book onto if you wish here.

Hope this helps, ^Zac

I second this. If I hadn't gone to my university's offer holder day, I might not have firmed it. Or if I had I would have felt very uneasy about it. As it was, I got to meet some faces that I later recognised once I started, and I had a very nice chat with a lecturer which convinced me I should go there.

Good afternoon,

I always suggest students write a pros and cons list of thier top universities. You can then use the chart to see which university is better for you. Also, using virtual campus tours and in person campus tours can be a good way to gauge whether you like the area.

Also I recommend reaching out to the student ambassadors such as unibuddy ambassadors.

Many thanks,

Hi @banderoi

Lots of great advice has already been given! I definitely agree that there will be chance to attend offer holder days and I highly recommend going to them, they really helped me make a decision.

I thought I would just add a few posts I have previously made that may have some useful advice
