I need to go to Sfe Tomorrow to get my passport!? HELP

Hi guysI really need some quick advice or help if anyone’s ever dealt with Student Finance England situation like this before.

So I started my SFE application super late because I honestly didn’t think I’d need it at first. Then something came up and part of the money my parents had set aside for my tuition had to be used elsewhere, so I decided to apply for SFE to help cover part of my fees.

Last week, they told me they couldn’t confirm my identity and that I’d need to send my physical passport to them.

Here’s the problem. I’m meant to be flying to Morocco in two days(Wednesday) with my dad to watch the World Cup qualifiers. Somehow we completely forgot about that when we posted my passport off to the SFE PO Box last Thursday 😭. The tracking shows it’s been delivered, but I haven’t had any update or confirmation from them since but tbf, they literally just got it.

I’ve already taken time off uni, the flights are booked, and I’ve just realised (literally an hour ago) that I don’t even have my passport for the trip.

We’ve decided we’re going to drive up to their Darlington office tomorrow , it’s about a 2-hour trip from where we live to see if there’s any way at all to get it back before the flight on Wednesday.

Has anyone ever tried something like this before, or knows if it’s even possible to get your passport back from them directly? I’d honestly appreciate any advice or tips right now 🙏 please and please
A bit of a punt to be honest.

A lot of these processing offices aren’t public-facing for security reasons. Even if you see someone you’re relying on them pulling your letter out of potentially hundreds of items.

Nothing to lose, but might be a fruitless long trip.

Hi Drew,
Thanks so much for this 😭 we’re about an hour out and we were just hoping not to go on a 5 journey to reach a dead end today.
I really appreciate the reply, we can commute in certainty now.
