Hi there
I strongly suggest you allocate 10 weeks for preparation for UCAT. There is nothing to revise in UCAT since it is based on the speed of answering questions . You can start with watching YouTube in three sections, then use medify or medentry to get practising. Reach out to other posts of former UCAT applicants to see how they achieved highly. Your objective is to achieve 2100 + score. Right now, you can focus on achieving the highest possible A level predicted grades

you’re going to get a different answer from everybody because it’s individual, everybody needs to spend a different amount of time revising. I scored 2420 B1 (top 2%) and spent 4 weeks (27 days) revising, doing 1-3 hours a day and no more. How to revise : it’s more of a skill to „practice“ rather than revise, platforms like Medify and Medentry are good, as well as the official UCAT question bank
How to revise - practice. Don't worry about it now though, just make sure to note down all the relevant dates for when to create a Pearson/UCAT account and when does booking open so you can be there on day one booking the UCAT at a day that is convenient for you. Mid to late August is nice, you give yourself some time to practice for the UCAT without clashing with school, and it gives you time to process your UCAT results and do the research to apply strategically to medical schools.

Ignore people that tell you you need to start practicing for it now. You don't, I'd argue that that is in fact counterproductive. I think anything above two month's prep time is overkill, one month just about right, although you may need more or less time. The key is little but consistent practice. UCAT says the top scorers do 1 hour a day of practice, and only 25-30 hours total practice, which is bang-on the money.

The best practice materials are the official UCAT question banks. If you pace yourself, you shouldn't need any additional resources.

Different things will work for different people but generally I would recommend starting basic familiarisation 6-8 weeks in advance, do just unpracticed familiarisation and basics for around 2 weeks. Then after this start doing short mini mocks for each section for a few weeks. Then along side these do full mocks especially 1-2 weeks before. It really helped me to keep a notebook to log all my practice and identify any common errors or weaknesses. But yeah certainly don’t start prep till the end of summer term to avoid burn out.
