Mphil Application help

Hi everyone I am a first year history undergraduate student at a fairly respected russel group uni. However I want to do an Mphil in comparative politics at Oxford and while they do accept history as a subject on the entry requients I have a good feeling it won’t be as powerful as someone doing politics at undergrad. I am just wondering if any current masters students has different undergrad degrees to their masters and was there a reason you were accepted like extracurricular activities and or additional modules taken or was it just your academic ability in the subject you are studying.

And advices or stories of your success would be appreciated
