What universities could I apply to for Architecture?

My predicted grades are A*AC (psychology art maths) and I am unsure of where is realistic to apply for architecture because of the C grade in maths. I have 3 safe options but I don’t know what is realistic for my aspirational?
I am also eligible for contextual offers which may help. Does anyone know of good universities that are more lenient with grades?
My GCSE grades were 888887777
I think I am applying to Oxford Brookes, Portsmouth, Salford or UWE Bristol however I would like aspirationals but most universities typically accept the grades AAA. Does anyone have experience with the University of Liverpool etc?
Thank you

Check the contextual criteria for each uni as they do differ. An aspirational choice of one grade above your predicted is fine. Manchester has shown leniency in the past but Liverpool less so. Newcastle might also be an option.

Hey @siennastarxx ,

Great to hear you're looking at applying to us this year! I think considering a range of universities is an excellent idea, as it gives you a wider range of options to choose from when making your firm/insurance choices. You'll also find we all teach/assess slightly differently too, so its well worth looking into the specifics of each course (and student life at each university too!).

In terms of looking for an aspirational university, I'd recommend checking if they ask for particular grades, or whether they're asking for an overall UCAS point total. With the grades you mention above you're sitting at 136 UCAS points (if you've done an AS Level or other quals with UCAS points, you might have more!) which is a really good amount of points. I'd also say its worth emailing your aspirational universities about their contextual offers to check what they include - you might find differences between them, so its worth being aware before making your final application choices.

Good luck with your applications and portfolios!

Hey there, I completely understand why you’re feeling unsure, especially when architecture entry requirements can vary quite a lot. From an LSBU perspective, your predicted grades are still very much in a range that can keep your options open.

For Architecture at LSBU, the typical entry requirement is around BBB at A level, along with a strong portfolio that shows creativity, problem-solving and an understanding of design. Maths isn’t required at a specific grade for our BA Architecture route, so having a C in maths wouldn’t prevent you from being considered. Your A*AC predictions, especially with strong subjects like psychology, art and maths, would be suitable for our course requirements. Your GCSE profile also looks solid and shows consistent achievement.

I hope that helps!
