"UCAS is processing your application"

Good morning,

I read that UCAS take "up to" 48 hours to send an application to the chosen unis once they receive the application from the school but are usually much quicker than this. Is it common that it takes longer than 48 hours? My son's was sent to UCAS just over 48 hours ago and he's worried that something is wrong.

It could just be that it's super busy their end but I was wondering whether anyone else was experiencing the same? His was sent early on Monday morning and his hub states "Your application has been sent to UCAS - waiting for decisions on your choices" and then under "What happens next" its says "UCAS is processing your application. Once this is complete it will be sent to the universities and colleges your applied to for their consideration"

Any advice greatly appreciated.

thanks

I’m pretty sure that it says “UCAS is processing your application” with a green outline all the way UNTIL you get your first offer. That’s what happened to my friends anyways. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing to worry about, it just says that in the meantime in the wait up to your first offer.

UCAS takes up to 48 hours to send an application to the chosen unis, and I’m pretty sure once they send you the confirmation email it is done.

oh OK so that's really helpful. Sorry, first timer here, so re the acknowledgement emails, I'm assuming that these will be sent by email to my son and not show as any update on the hub? (I think he's just been checking the hub thinking everything will show on there and nothing else) 🙄. He said he hasn't received anything but I'll get him to check his emails later!

thanks so much

He will know that Unis have actually received his application once he gets some acknowledgement emails directly from them. Its worth keeping an eye on junk mail folders as sometimes these auto-emails get filtered out of inboxes.

Thank you. Yes he’s now found the acknowledgment emails and also had a super quick offer from Leeds Uni. At least he now knows all is done his end and he just has to wait now.
