Possible reasons for LSE rejection?

I applied about a month ago for politics and economics and got rejected today. I didn't fully expect to get in but I thought LSE usually gave decisions later, so getting rejected this early must mean something went really wrong.
For context I have a 42 predicted in IB, 776 at HL (Economics, History, Math AA) and 776 at SL (Biology, English, Hindi) and 2/3 core points. My personal statement was about the course.
Can anyone help me speculate why?

I didn't know they cared about GCSEs this much. I didn't do those, I did IB MYP, which I'm not sure if UK universities care about.

Did you request (and if so, receive) feedback on why you were rejected?

I got rejected an hour ago so not yet, I'll mail them tomorrow and see what happens. They haven't even sent me a rejection letter lol.

What GCSES did u have?
Application outcomes have to be communicated by UCAS first, that’s why there’s a delay before you receive any notification from the uni itself.

With this level of course, rejections are invariably some minor difference between a very good academic profile and a bulletproof one, or a very good personal statement and and outstanding one.

Without seeing their internal scoring criteria you’ll never know what subtlety they were looking for versus another uni that gives you an offer without hesitation.

Unbelievable. Your predicted grades are grade. What were your GCSEs?

9977776666 9 in maths 9 in lit 6 in English lang. it’s lowkey average but I’ve improved sm and done so many supercurrculars. Luckily I hope my other unis can see that. Also I am pretty much above their grade requirements anyways so yh

Plus I was convinced my marking in GCSEs were harsh marked and it was all odd. I didn’t really have guidance on marking it by any teachers but yh

What course was that for?

Politics and econ LSE

Yeah LSE can really be hit and miss, sorry to hear about you not getting in. There’s plenty of other great unis out there too.
