KEGS sixth form

Hello,

I am currently in yr 11 and have recently visited the KEGS sixth form open evening and looking to apply as an external student. Obviously KEGS has a very good reputation but I am wondering if anyone currently at Kegs could tell me about the environment there. Is it welcoming or are external students often excluded? Although grades are important this is something i am eager to know about

Also, I am quite interested in taking geology A level there, especially as it is uncommon locally. Could anyone tell me a little about it?

Thanks so much!

Do you know if that is a mixed sixth form or just boys? Also do you know anything about geology a level?

Thanks!

Pretty sure it’s a mixed sixth form but since it’s all boys to start with there will definitely be more boys than girls by quite a bit, same with WHSB but the divide might be smaller cause more internal students tend to leave WHSB than KEGGS. In short, KEGGS and WHSB are both mixed sixth forms.

Sorry, since I wouldn’t know much abt the A level since I have no interest in taking it, but i know some ppl who take it for gcse, and they just say it’s physical geography with more of a rocks focus and volcanoes.

Thank you so much. I think I will apply for KEGS as I think I may have the grades to get in. I feel like not knowing every single detail of a course (but obv enough to know you want to do it) makes it quite exciting.

Nice. The thing abt KEGGS tho is that u apply in results day so there’s no predicted grades conditional offer kinda stuff. I don’t know the average grades there but for reference I’m predicted 12 9s and ppl there do 13 GCSEs tho idk how high the grades are.

For an external student I think you need grade average of 8 to be considered but as internal I think it's only 6.25 or something way lower. They only take into account top 8 subjects

Congrats on your predicted btw!
