DDD —> A*A*A* gyg

Hi, I’m in year 13.
I do biology , chem and maths!
I recently got DDD in my year 13 mocks so I’m making a gyg to motivate me to revise and log my revision everyday.
I’ve applied to medicine this year, my ucas grades are A* A* A. I was very committed and determined in year 12 but after my ucat (which was a flop) I was so burnt out I barely revised for any of my term 1 tests, as a result bombed them, same thing happened with my mocks unfortunately, I had no motivation or discipline to do well, as a result I failed horribly with DDD. I know A*A*A* seems very aspirational, but I’m willing to put in all the effort for those grades.
Hopefully I can update this gyg on results day!

Hey! I did Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Further Maths for my ALs. At one point, I got a D for a Further Maths unit and some Cs in Physics and Chemistry mocks too. What helped me get AAA was using active recall basically, you study a part of a topic, then revise it repeatedly over time with breaks in between. After that, I did topic-wise questions and cleared up mistakes with my teacher’s help.

So don’t stress about mocks, most students struggle in exams at some point. Consistency matters way more than cramming or burning out. I’m sure if you stick to a plan, you can reach your predicted grades. Good luck on your exams!!

Well done on those grades! Im doing some active recall for chem and bio specifically by using flashcards, but I take way longer making the flashcards than actually using them😭

Thank you! I used a website called 'Physics and Math Tutor' and it had several flashcards and topic wise questions and past papers for all the subjects as I can remember. Maybe worth checking out. If you need any help or have any questions, feel free to ask, good luck again!
