Dmu Mpharm 2026 De Montfort University

Hi so l'm doing an Access to higher education in science and my subjects within the course is chemistry, biology and physics. I'm 19 years old currently doing the course and I'll be 20 by the time I start 2026 admissions but I never completed my a levels due to things happening in my life during sixth form but I went back to education hoping to do pharmacy. I also checked the entry requirements and I wanted to add that I have a 5 in GCSE English language and a 4 in GCSE maths. Will maths and English be the only acceptable GCSE or do you require more. Just wanted to know if it was possible for me getting in it's my firm choice
Please help me guys

Hi there! 😊

Thanks so much for your question, and it’s great to hear you’re studying an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Science that’s a fantastic route into Pharmacy, and we’re glad to hear DMU is your firm choice!

Entry Requirements Access to HE (Science)
For our MPharm Pharmacy course, we do accept the Access to HE Diploma in Science, provided it includes relevant Biology and Chemistry content and you achieve the required number of distinctions/merits (these vary by year, so please check the course page for the exact profile once 2026 entry is published).

Pass Access to Science HE Diploma overall with 120 UCAS tariff, with 15 level three chemistry credits at distinction, and 15 credits at merit in other science subjects (Biology, Maths, Physics, Psychology).

English GCSE grade C/4 required as a separate qualification; equivalency not accepted within the Access qualification.

You’ve mentioned you have English (5) and Maths (4) these do meet the standard GCSE requirements.
DMU does not usually require additional GCSE subjects beyond Maths and English for MPharm applicants coming through an Access course.

Summary
Yes, it is possible for you to get in. Your GCSEs meet the requirements, your Access course is relevant, and as long as you meet the final Access grade profile, you will be eligible for consideration.

If you’d like, you can also email our admissions team for personalised confirmation: [email protected]

Hope this helps, and best of luck with your studies we’d love to see you at DMU in 2026! 😊
