Hi there,
I’d recommend getting in touch with your university’s admissions department, as they’ll be able to give the most accurate advice about transferring courses. Your foundation year will have already provided you with key academic skills such as writing, referencing, and critical thinking, which are valuable across all subjects.
As an example, at LJMU our Geography degree requires a C or above in Geography or a related science or social science subject — and since Psychology is classed as a social science, it’s often seen as relevant experience. So your background may be more closely related to Geography than you think!
It’s also worth noting that subject requirements can vary slightly between Geography, Human Geography, and Environmental Geography, so it’s a good idea to check which pathway best fits your background and interests. Geography courses may have different preferred A-level subjects or entry criteria, so exploring your options could help you find the best fit. Consider what kind of career you’d like in the future and review the module lists to see which course aligns most closely with your goals.
Hope this helps,
Megan (LJMU Rep)
