I hate my apprenticeship

I have started an higher level apprenticeship in September in a field I don’t honestly have an interest in, I had applied for another apprenticeship in the company and thought might aswell go for an additional one. Upon beginning it I have realised I have no interest in the field of the apprenticeship I chose, it is a year and half long and I haven’t even started the educational part of the course yet and I already know this isn’t the thing for me. In work I don’t really have any friends on my team and my manager is very rude to me. The company is very well thought of and I know if I left I might regret it but I’ve already taken a gap year and have anxiety about being left behind by all my friends who are in their second year of uni. What do you thinking I should do? I am open to going to uni but in a completely unrelated field as I also don’t think an office job is the one for me

Hi ! I left my apprenticeship 3 years in (it was a 5 year level 7 apprenticeship ) so basically incomplete. I hated it in the beginning too but I just kept going, honestly it gets work if you already hate it this much. Follow your gut. As for being “left behind” I’ve realised in your 20s there is no such thing, the fact that you managed to get an apprenticeship in the first place shows you are resilient as the process isn’t easy. I’m sure whatever you choose, you’ll thrive at. Just remember to follow your gut and don’t settle for anything, because you rather take a risk now then regret it in 20 years. Good luck, you’ve got this
