When do Cambridge Rejection emails come out?

I applied with A*AA predicted to Land Economy at Pembroke with nearly no contextuals and a meh application knowing full well I stood no chance at getting an interview. I've accepted that. It's just agonising not actually getting the rejection because I still have this stupid little bit of hope that I'll get in and it's killing me. I've never wanted to be rejected by something so badly. I'm just so afraid of getting hurt after applying to something I knew I wouldn't get. I don't want to think about Cambridge any more. I am so so happy for everyone who got an offer and I mean that as genuinely as possible. But I feel like I'm sitting under an hanging knife, knowing everything about it - how long it is, how sharp the blade is - except when the damn thing will actually fall. I just want this knife to fall so I can grieve properly and move on.

So when will Pembroke reject me?

Unless you didn’t meet the entry requirements there’s no way to know for sure that you’ll be rejected. Cambridge is known to interview a large proportion of applicants and no one has got any offers yet (official decision day is sometime in January). Nothing’s set in stone yet. Just try not to put yourself down too much, and instead give yourself the best chance by preparing for interview. I hope this helps :smile:

Check above link for interview invites so far. Although this is small fraction of total applicants, but hopefully it gives some insights.

Different colleges have different approach on invites / rejections. Kings for eg I’ve heard 2 invites for Econs received on 14/11 , and rejection came next day on 15/11. Some colleges , like Fitzwilliam on their website have not sent any invites yet.

So hang in there. I think Pembroke will be this or next week. All the best !
