Open study college

Anyone here enrolled with open study college. I’m planning to switch to online learning, my a levels are bio, chem and English lit and potentially an epq. Does anyone do these subjects and do you find it extremely harder without a teacher, also are the tutors easily accessible: do they respond quickly as if a teacher would? Also how is the careers support and helping get into uni. I’m aiming for Oxbridge in the future and I don’t want to shoot my self in the foot by switching to online but if it’s worth it I defo will it will benefit me a lot.

Hi! we are enrolled & we have been predicted A*'s/A's.

They have good tutors who are easy to contact via email & are a bit cheaper than other online colleges. we haven't used any career service because we know what course we want to do at university and we will use the career services there.

the best thing about online learning is that unlike a school timetable, we get to complete topics in a few days rather than a whole term which means we can move ahead and finish the course sooner and have a generous amount of time to revise. We are also aiming for Oxbridge and feel happy with our choice to study via online learning.

Ah great! I think ill be fine teaching myself the content. I just worry because it’s a level and obviously going to be much harder without a teacher. But if the tutors are there it should be fine. Did you find understanding and leaning the content any different to being in a classroom?

Hi! We personally find it easier than a classroom only because the course materials are specifically written in a way designed for home learners - theres no strict academic text so that's great if your self-learning. Whereas at school, teachers can waffle and the lesson times are 1 hour but with home learning we found we completed topics in 30 mins. I'm looking at another course myself because I never took those A-Levels at school but I can now. You do have a personal tutor and you can email them anytime if you need help.
