How did you get your nursing placements?

Hi

Volunteering in places like care homes, hospital wards ( check with the local hospitals in your area if they have any positions available with contacting the HR department who should be able to give you further information). Applying for paid HCA work hospitals etc at weekends maybe a good thing as this will give you nursing skills.

You don't always need any experience but it's useful to have something behind you so you understood working with people.

Nursing placements are dealt with the university if you are going down the university degree route as they plan everything out.

You may have quite some difficulty finding work experience in a mental health setting. It's possible but you're going to find it difficult I suspect. As above, you would be better off seeking experiences in places where physical health needs are the focus, particularly in the care of older people who tend to have more complex needs.
