19/11/2025 (day 3 of mock season!)
third day of mocks were both amazing and absolutely horrible.
how the mocks today were:
biology - paper was EXTREMELY GOOD, everything that i was terrible at content wise (e.g. cell division) barely came up + the six markers were super easy! super confident on a good biology grade 😄
further maths - on the other hand, further maths was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC. all the questions were worded so differently from what we learnt in class. the only relieving bit is that mostly everyone felt the same way about the mock, so we'll all go down together 🥲
what i think i'll get on the mocks (so far):
eng lang - 8 (only did paper 1)
history - 7+ (not including paper 2 which is next week, not looking forward to it...)
maths - 8+ (not including paper 2 which is next week)
biology - 8+ (only did paper 1)
further maths - 6- (only did matrices, binomial expansions, factor theorem, domains and ranges + gcse maths algebra)
what i did:
-did some questions on the fetch decode execute cycle + comparing different types of secondary storage for comp sci
-relaxed for the rest of the day, didn't have much else to worry about 😊
things to do tmrw:
-go over my weak points in spanish through flashcards (in preparation for the spanish listening + reading on friday)
-review properties of alpha, beta and gamma radiation for physics (in preparation for physics paper 1 on monday)
mocks tomorrow: computer science (only on systems architecture + memory and storage, i'm a bit confident for the exam?)
daily mood: a bit uneasy - tomorrow is quite a boring day honestly 🙃
-nathan ❤️

good luck for computer science!

20/11/2025 (day 4 of mock season!)
fourth day of mocks went by smoothly, quite an uneventful day though 🙃

how the mocks today were:
computer science - questions were way too simple/easy, half of the paper was 'fill in the blanks/table' - they definitely know we don't learn well from them and rigged the questions to make themselves look good, at least my score will be high 😭

what i think i'll get on the mocks (so far):
eng lang - 8 (only did paper 1)
history - 7+ (not including paper 2 which is next week, not looking forward to it...)
maths - 8+ (not including paper 2 which is next week)
biology - 8+ (only did paper 1)
further maths - 6- (only did matrices, binomial expansions, factor theorem, domains and ranges + gcse maths algebra)
computer science - 8 (only did systems architecture + memory and storage)

what i did:
-did some exercises on grammar + listening for spanish
-i was rlly lazy today and took a long nap after school, the mock fatigue is starting to hit me now 😣

things to do tmrw:
-review radioactivity topic for physics (in prep for physics mock on monday)

mocks tomorrow: spanish listening + reading (didn't revise too much but i think i can scrape an 8!)

daily mood: tired - looking forward to the end of the first mock week 😋

hii everyone! thanks for tuning into my (kind of late) y11 gyg (i'll make it worth your time i promise!)
i'm nathan, an aspiring y11 student hoping to maximise my grades and enjoy my last year of secondary school life (although i'm really looking forward to sixth form!) ☺️
predicted grades (before mock season):
maths - 8
eng lit - 8+
eng lang - 8+
biology - 8-
chemistry - 8+
physics - 7+
history - 8+
spanish - 8-
comp sci - 8
further maths - ?? (haven't done a formal assessment yet)
religious studies (did in y10!) - 8 (169/204 - 3 marks off a grade 9 🥲)
my school doesn't give us grade 9 predictions until after our mocks, so hopefully some of these will be 9's afterwards!
goals for y11:
-survive mock season. (NEXT WEEK!!😖)
-achieve predicted grades of 8/9 for maths and triple science + the rest 7/8/9 to apply for the a-level combo i want to do at a really good sixth form! (maths, further maths, computer science and either physics/eng lit/economics + the compulsory epq)
-finish off my personal statement (with a total of 0 good extracurriculars to talk about...)
-get out of my comfort zone somehow (i'm quite introverted irl 😓)
-revisit my old passions of editing, writing stories and watching k-dramas!
things about me:
-huge lover of anime, reality tv, and mystery series + enjoy analysing character growth and development
-in my free time i like to play a wide variety of videogames, read comics online and catch up on shows i'm watching!
-mbti is intj, ennegram is 6w5, zodiac is gemini
-passionate about many sociological topics (mainly gender roles/identity, race inequality, sexuality), applying my own experience/research to current events + educate other inquisitive ppl like me!
-fav characters are: kuroo, bakugou, bocchi, carmen, kyoko, mydei, silver wolf (the list goes on lol)
thanks again if you read through all of my yap, hopefully you can stick around to see my progress!
daily mood: motivated + positive - ready to lock in for the weekend! 😆
-nathan ❤️

u seem pretty cool icl
my mbti is enfj and i also love sociology! i do it as a gcse self study

21/11/2025 - 24/11/25 (day 5/6/7/8 of mock season!)
i haven't posted on here in quite a while, mainly because i didn't do much/was really tired, but i'm back in the mood now! i'll basically just summarise what i've done from friday to today! 😊

how the mocks on friday/today were:
spanish (listening + reading) - listening was quite bad because the audio wasn't great, the reading was alright though. i'm honestly not worried too much about the grade but i know it won't be too high
physics - absolutely AMAZING!! so many marks were on calculations and the explain questions were topics i had revised! i was very happy after the mock
maths (calculator) - yeah this was not good at all. it felt like i barely needed to use my calculator, and the last questions at the end of the paper really tripped me up. i definitely fumbled my good grade in maths 😵

what i think i'll get on the mocks (so far):
eng lang - 8 (only did paper 1)
history - 7+ (not including paper 2 which is on wednesday, not looking forward to it...)
maths - 8- (paper 1 and paper 2)
biology - 8+ (only did paper 1)
further maths - 6- (only did matrices, binomial expansions, factor theorem, domains and ranges + gcse maths algebra)
computer science - 8 (only did systems architecture + memory and storage)
spanish - 7 (not including writing which is on thursday)
physics - 8+ (only did paper 1)

what i did from friday to today:
-(regrettably) relaxed on friday and saturday
-did some past papers for maths paper 2 and physics paper 1, they went okay
-made a mindmap for secrecy + mystery for jekyll and hyde and did a practice essay on it

things to do tmrw:
-cram as much anglo-saxon and normans content as possible (i barely remember anything in detail.)
-construct some sentences for spanish topics e.g. free time, holidays, healthy life

mocks tomorrow: eng lit paper 1 (not that confident, jekyll and hyde is my weak point, i think i'll do good in macbeth though)

daily mood: a bit worried for eng lit, hopefully it'll pass by smoothly 😵*💫

25/11/2025 (day 9 of mock season!)
ninth day of mock season is done, the end is really close now! after tomorrow i'll only have one mock left 😋 (chemistry paper 1 on friday)

how the mocks today were:
eng lit - the revision i did the day before was very applicable to the questions + extracts we got, but even then i knew as i was writing that my essays my analysis lacked the spark that would boost me into the highest band. i still think i did quite well though!

what i think i'll get on the mocks (so far):
eng lang - 8 (only did paper 1)
history - 7+ (not including paper 2 which is tomorrow, not looking forward to it...)
maths - 8- (paper 1 and paper 2)
biology - 8+ (only did paper 1)
further maths - 6- (only did matrices, binomial expansions, factor theorem, domains and ranges + gcse maths algebra)
computer science - 8 (only did systems architecture + memory and storage)
spanish - 7 (not including writing which is tomorrow)
physics - 8+ (only did paper 1)
eng lit - 8 (only did paper 1)

what i did:
-made some mind maps on the revolts during the norman conquest + domesday book
-was very drained today, i honestly don't have a lot of motivation left because the mocks coming up aren't that exciting 😞

things to do tmrw:
-do a past paper on chemistry paper 1
-refine my personal statement for sixth form applications

mocks tomorrow: history paper 2 + spanish writing (this is DEFINITELY the mock day i am the least prepared for, not expecting good results from these...)

daily mood: reflecting on all the times i should've revised 😭

26/11/2025 - 27/11/25 (day 10/11 of mock season!)
tenth and eleventh days of mock season are finished, i'm so relieved its almost over! 😋

how the mocks on wednesday were:
history paper 2 - anglo-saxons and normans was amazing, cold war was quite bad - i wrote the completely wrong topic for one of the 8 markers...hopes are not high for history now 😵*💫
spanish writing - finished very early, i couldn't remember a few words/grammar rules so i made up a few of my sentences - hoping that they're not too bad. it wasn't that bad overall though!

what i think i'll get on the mocks (so far):
eng lang - 8 (paper 1)
history - 7- (paper 1 and paper 2)
maths - 8- (paper 1 and paper 2)
biology - 8+ (paper 1)
further maths - 6- (matrices, binomial expansions, factor theorem, domains and ranges + gcse maths algebra)
computer science - 8 (systems architecture + memory and storage)
spanish - 7 (listening + reading + writing)
physics - 8+ (paper 1)
eng lit - 8 (paper 1)

what i did:
-did the chemistry paper 1 for 2024 and got 57/100, a lot lower than i anticipated...i'm going to try and patch up my weak points in the morning!

things to do tmrw:
-watch some freesciencelessons vidoes on my weak points in the morning + do some ppqs
-relax after school and celebrate the end of mock season!

mocks tomorrow: chemistry paper 1 (feeling okay for this exam, it should go just fine!)

daily mood: energetic - mocks have drained so much energy out of me but i'm starting to get recharged now! ☺️

28/11/2025 (day 12, the FINAL day of mock season!)
the twelfth and final day of mock season is over, and i couldn't be any happier! no more late night cram sessions and morning rushes

how the mocks today were:
chemistry - questions were very nice! a few questions were a bit rocky, but i did extremely good overall

what i think i'll get on the mocks (full list!!):
eng lang - 8 (paper 1)
history - 7- (paper 1 and paper 2)
maths - 8- (paper 1 and paper 2)
biology - 8+ (paper 1)
further maths - 6- (matrices, binomial expansions, factor theorem, domains and ranges + gcse maths algebra)
computer science - 8 (systems architecture + memory and storage)
spanish - 7 (listening + reading + writing)
physics - 8+ (paper 1)
eng lit - 8 (paper 1)
chemistry - 8+ (paper 1)
my mock results day is on the 17th of december (i think) - i know the wait for my results will be brutally slow but i know it'll all be worth it as my hard work payed off

note: i won't be posting for the next few days as i'm taking a short break from revision to just celebrate mocks being over! i'll probably get back into the routine next weekend!

daily mood: optimistic - proud of how i performed during mocks and glad that the stress is all over
