BCU Speech and Language Therapy

Hi, I have an interview coming up for speech and language at BCU and I’m nervous about the group interview. I can be shy and I’m worried I won’t shine enough to get noticed. Does anyone have any tips that might help me? With the individual interview that follows will we be presenting to the whole group or just the two lectures? Any advice welcome. Thank you

Hey! For the group interview, focus on contributing clearly and politely rather than dominating making thoughtful points counts. For the individual interview, it’s usually just with the lecturers. Practice answers and examples beforehand to boost confidence, and just be yourself you’ve got this!

Hey how did your interview go and could you please tell me a bit about the structure of the interview?

Hi,

I know this post was a while ago however hopefully this might still help someone! I am not sure what the group interview for Speech and Langauge Therapy includes, however my general advice for group interviews is:

Be as prepared as possible. Make sure you have read any information that you have been sent and done some research around the subject.

Speak up when you have something to say in a polite but confident way. You do not have to speak the whole time, but it is important that you share your ideas whenever you can.

Listen to the other people in the group. Showing that you can listen and respond to people is a really good skill to demonstrate.

Consider the roles in the group and what you could do to contribute. For example, if someone needs to make notes then you could volunteer to do that to show that you are keen to participate.

Hope this helps and good luck for your interviews!

Sophie.
