Warwick Uni Post TMUA

So TMUA result day didnt go well but it was unfortunately expected. I have epilepsy and take medication which often gives me side effects and these include blurry/double vision and a fogged up mind. This happened during the exam and it most certainly lead to my score of 2.8. I'm just wondering if this could be a valid extentuating circumstance for warwick MMath. I'm aware the base requirement of 5.0 doesnt guarantee an offer and that I'm quite a bit off but I'm also aware Warwick offers STEP offers where a grade 2 is required for either poor tmua performance or as a replacement. It is kind of stressing me out as I know I definitely wasn't at my best because I averaged 6-7 on mock papers in timed conditions so I don't want something I couldn't control to be the decider of a potential offer. I do have the sufficient A level predicted grades of A*A*A in maths, FM and an additional subject. Please be as brutally honest as possible if you can provide any information.

You can email the faculty department at Warwick University, and tell them about your medical condition so they can flag it when looking at your application and TMUA score. They were very friendly to my son and I expect they will be with you. Good luck!

Hey, sorry to hear you had to deal with that during the exam. It sounds really tough, especially when the symptoms aren’t something you can control.

I’m not fully sure how Warwick will view it, but they do usually take extenuating circumstances seriously, as long as you can provide medical evidence. Since your medication directly affected your performance on the day, it seems reasonable to send an EC form or let your school submit one for you.

About the TMUA score, I don’t think it automatically ruins your application. Some people in past years have received STEP conditions instead when their TMUA didn’t go well. Your predicted grades are strong, so they will probably look at the whole application rather than just one test.

If you are feeling unsure, you can also email the department to ask how they want you to submit the EC information. They are usually quite helpful about this kind of thing. I hope it works out for you, and really none of this was your fault.
