Hey, how you doing? so I found out from my friends who does graphic designing and other work, and they told me to consider Acer Nitro V15 (Ryzen 7 + RTX 4050) or a Lenovo LOQ 15. For graphic designing you might need a strong GPU and a decent CPU and RAM to run the required software. Maybe you might need touchscreen for animation, but 2-in-1 laptops are expensive, so buying a graphics tablet seems cost effective. So better to do some research and find a laptop which meets your requirements as well. Good luck on your degree!!

Hi yes I’m an animation student and you don’t need a touch screen laptop. Wacon tablets are commonly used to link up with your laptop and the course usually has some to rent out so your not buying one. I use my iPad for digital drawings and I use Procreate dreams on there for animations. I’d get a laptop that’s definitely compatible with adobe as that’s the industry standard software used and you will definitely have to use it at some point. Other than that I would just say the same, a high RAM is important as adobe likes to crash if too many things are going on at once and a good graphics card but that’s not too necessary.

I wrote a blog a little while ago about Should I buy a laptop for uni? that should have some good tips on what to buy and where.

Hope this helps,
