Studying law is an empowering choice, and with your strong academic profile and clear ambition, you’re exceptionally well-placed to thrive in it. Law opens doors to a wide range of careers—whether you want to advocate for others, work on complex global issues, or shape society through justice and policy. It’s a subject that builds confidence, sharpens critical thinking, and develops skills you’ll use for life. If you’re passionate about understanding how the world works and using your voice to make a difference, then pursuing law isn’t just a good choice—it’s an exciting, meaningful path where you can truly excel.
Hey!

Honestly, you’re not being too ambitious - and it's also great to be ambitious anyway! AAA predictions + contextual eligibility is a really strong combo, and it absolutely puts you in the competitive range for all the unis you’ve listed. They’re ambitious choices, but definitely not unrealistic ones.

A lot of people worry their GCSEs will ruin their chances, but unis (especially York) look at the whole application - predicted grades, personal statement, contextual factors, and academic potential. Here's a blog from a student who recieved an contextual offer if you're interested!

And just to give you a bit of reassurance from the York side: we get plenty of students with similar GCSE profiles who go on to do really well here. York takes contextual information seriously, and it genuinely makes a difference in the way your application is viewed. 🤍

Your list is strong, aspirational, but totally reasonable - and York is a great choice to have in there if you want Russell Group teaching with gold standard problem based learning (in law), a supportive environment, and a place where contextual applicants are properly considered. You've got this!

If you want to chat about the York course, the campus, or anything else, feel free to ask - always happy to help!💫

Best wishes,
-T

I would pick a second backup (assuming one is York) then you should be fine
