Am I too late to apply to uni?

Hello, I'm an international student that is new to college applications in general; I've been seeing that some people are already getting university offers when I haven't even submitted my application. All of my deadlines are in January, but I'm going for law, which is very competitive. Am I too late???? This is a major stressor for me right now and I'm worried if I may have lost a spot at a university that I could of had if I was just a bit faster. :frown:

Don’t worry, you’re not too late. Many international students have January deadlines, and for law that’s still fine. Early applicants may get offers first, but universities usually consider applications until the deadline. Focus on submitting a strong application and personal statement by your deadlines that’s more important than being early. You still have plenty of time.

It is ok as far as far you submit your application by the "equal consideration deadline" in January, it is not a first come first served game. Unis are required by UCAS to treat give all applications equally, hence "equal consideration".

The speeds of unis giving offers depend on the competitiveness, or over-subscriptions of the uni and course. Some competitive unis (London inis, Bristol) are famous for late offers.

So you are definitely not late. But be mindful of the deadline. Good luck.

As above, you're perfectly fine as long as you apply before the 14th of January at 6PM UK time.

P.S.: edited your thread title to better reflect your query

Hi there,

It’s completely understandable to feel stressed about timing, but please don’t worry, you are not too late at all. For LSBU, the application deadline is 31 July 2026, so you are well within the normal timeframe. Even though some students receive early offers, universities, including LSBU, continue to assess applications throughout the cycle.

Applying now will not disadvantage you, even for competitive courses like Law. You still have plenty of time to prepare a strong application and submit it confidently.

LSBU is an excellent choice for international students. We’re known for being one of the most supportive and inclusive universities in London, with a strong focus on real-world learning and career opportunities. Our international student community is vibrant and diverse, and we offer dedicated support ranging from visa guidance to academic support, helping you settle in quickly and succeed.

Accommodation is another major advantage, LSBU has some of the cheapest university accommodation in central London, all within easy walking distance of campus. Our location is one of our biggest strengths: we’re right in the heart of central London, close to major landmarks like the South Bank, London Eye, Waterloo, and major transport links. This gives you access not only to world-class culture but also to fantastic opportunities for placements, networking, and part-time work.

If you’d like to hear directly from students who were once in your position, you can speak with our current international students on the Unibuddy platform, they’re friendly, honest, and happy to share their personal experiences and advice.

👉 You can chat with our students through our Unibuddy platform: Chat with our students.

You’re definitely still on track, and there’s no need to feel like you’ve missed your chance.

Does LSBU expect to keep all undergraduate courses open until the 31st of July? It seems quite early to decide that.
