I think I've figured out what A-levels I'm doing!

If there's a noticeable problem or something that could be a problem can you let me know

I've decided on Law, History and Environmental Sciences/Studies.
If I go to 2/4 sixth forms

Geography, Sociology, Psychology
If I go to my bottom choice

And I'm not certain what I'd pick in the other one but definitely history and two others (one which would probably be sociology)

Do you know what degree you wish to study? 🙂

Law doesn't have specific A-Level requirements, so you should be absolutely fine.

You've also made a smart choice by not taking both A-Level Environmental Sciences/Studies and A-Level Geography.

Any of the subject combinations you listed will keep your options open. Your main focus now should be making sure you’re confident in your choices - in other words, will you enjoy studying those subjects?

You don't need A level Law to study law at university.

I'm interestd in why they are so different between the different schools - is there a reason for this?

I mostly want to do the combo of law, history and environmental sciences but two schools as they're much smaller don't offer law and environmental sciences. My bottom choice has history topics which i personally find absolutely boring so I know I would likely have no motivation for that course. Than the other one has good history courses, and sociology is something else I wanted to do but not as much as other courses so that's why I would do it in two other smaller schools. Hopefully this makes some sense:smile:

I'm interested in law and environmental sciences so I'd say yes. And where I'm applying for history the courses are also interesting for me. The other ones i have interest in but not as much as other A-levels

Thank youuu!
Now for the questions :')
1) how much practical work is there?
2) how many resources are there for the content?

1) you get to be off timetable for field work (both within and outside of school) quite often, a lot more than biology and geography from what i know (i do bio and theres more fieldwork in env sci than that for sure). Theres no much lab practical stuff, i think we’ve done one so far in year 12 but there’ll probably be a few more throughout the course. None of the practicals are assessed so theyre a lot of fun- my first lesson was literally just wandering around a local nature reserve identifying different trees! My school do bat detection, trips to the zoo, and the like as well which is very cool!
2) not as many as id like there to be! Primrose kitten has great resources, the textbook is good and theres a few sites with notes. The spec is really helpful and aqa has revision organisers for the topics which are a god send honestly! Ive found great notes and flashcard desks plus quizzes on studysmarter which are very reliable. Theres definitely enough around that you can be successful but it will also teach you how to have organised notes and make your own resources really which is super important for uni anyway
Hope that helps, feel free to ask any more questions 🙂

That's good as I strongly dislike assessed practicals! I'm also glad to hear that the primrose kitten has some stuff as I already use that site! If I have more questions I'll be sure to ask, thank you!
