Art gcse - final piece help

I’m doing my gcse art with AQA exam board. For a bit of context my theme is flora and fauna and my final piece design is a rib cage with birds on- this is a very basic description but it looks better than it sounds I promise.
For this, I’m planning to use fine liners (the background will likely be book pages).
Will this be enough though? By which I mean do I need to use other mediums or more ‘impressive’ mediums.
I’m awful (I cannot stress this enough) at painting and pastels etc, my abilities lie in pencil and pen but I’m worried that presenting my final piece in only this media will look tacky or not show enough skill.
Do I need to use another media? Could you recommend any?

Your concept sounds strong and looks more important than the medium. Fine liners over book pages can work really well if detailed and well-composed. You don’t have to use paint or pastels. If you want to add depth, consider light watercolour washes, ink or coloured pens for accents, or some collage elements. Focus on making it polished and thoughtful rather than using lots of different techniques.
