You don’t need to worry Philosophy & Ethics is not a bad choice for Law at Oxford. They don’t require specific subjects, and what matters most is strong grades, essay-based skills, and doing well in the LNAT.
If you enjoy the subject and can get a high grade in it, that’s far better than taking something you don’t like. Plenty of Law applicants take Philosophy or RS. Sociology and English Lit also work well.

That’s my exact combo haha, but I assumed Sociology was unrespected and Philosophy + Ethics was better 😓

I can't help on the side of is it good or bad for oxford specifically but Philosophy and ethics covers a wide range of subjects and is going to be useful in terms of transferable skills i.e. reading a text and constructing the argument, picking information out etc plus if it's something you enjoy then it's the right choice, in my experience unis only care what you studied at a-level if it's especially relevant to the course, but they will expect that some students will start with 0 knowledge since not every college offers courses in philosophy or in your case law.

Philosophy and ethics is fine. There is nothing wrong with it and it is a decent subject to take. There is no specific subjects needed for law. As long as you get the required grades.
