Essay for Cambridge MPhil Education, Globalisation and International Development

I've started my application to the Mphil Education, Globalisation and International Development I want to understand does the written task require formal academic referencing (APA/Harvard), or is it acceptable to cite sources more informally as long as they are recent and relevant? And what is the recommended structure for the MPhil written task? Should it follow an academic essay format (introduction–argument–conclusion), or is a more research-proposal format acceptable?

Check out for the format acceptable for the programme and the school you are applying to.
If you are referring to personal statement, you don't need to reference anything. Write what your institution request of it, don't follow the usual academic essay format.
