macbeth

Can u help me please on this quote: "O full of scorpions is my mind, dear wife!" What are the key words? Pick at least 2 and comment on the effect and is this similar to any other quotes in the play and why?

I would say the first key word would be the word 'full'. Its important because it shows Macbeth has no space left for rational thought. He is consumed by anxiety, panic and the pressure of maintaining power
Shakespeare suggests that once Macbeth chooses the path of evil, he can’t control it. Evil begins to control him.
The second key word i would suggest using is 'scorpions'. Shakespeare uses a metaphor to show Macbeth’s psychological torment. Scorpions represent: Paranoia (he fears Banquo’s descendants will take the throne), Guilt (his conscience is attacking him), Violent intentions (scorpions sting just like Macbeth’s violent impulses)
It reveals how far Macbeth has fallen since killing Duncan. His mind is now a place of poison and fear.
