Query on Maintenance Loan (London; higher amount)
Hello guys, just a query on maintenance loan.
This seems quite confusing to me but essentially can one apply for the higher amount of maintenance loan residing in London but away from home whilst acttually living at home in London?? Like how does SFE confirm this when it is just a tickbox activity?

We don't ask for proof of where you are staying. We do sample checks throughout the year for a certain amount of students, where we may ask for evidence, but you may not ever be a part of one.
You are only entitled to the London rate of Maintenance Loan if you are studying at a university in London, meaning the area comprising the City of London and the former Metropolitan Police District. If your university is outside of this, it would be the Elsewhere rate of Maintenance Loan. If you are living with parents it would be the parental rate, regardless of where your university is based.
