GCSE style revision does work for A level German lit you just need to make it a bit deeper. Make simple pages for characters and themes with a short summary, a couple of key quotes, and why they matter in the text. A quick scene/chapter grid also helps you see how ideas develop.
Then practise writing short paragraphs: make a point, add a quote, explain the effect, and link back to the question. You can also use flashcards for quotes, themes, and useful German essay phrases. If you tell me your text, I can help you make a template.
