A different undergraduate degree than the one applying for postgraduate?

Hello!
I am finishing my bachelor's degree in Political Science. I have top grades, many extracurriculars, like being a chairwoman of a student scientific organization, some research experience, great recommendations. I am planning on applying for US History MPhil. Am I punching above my weight?
I did not have many history courses or modules, yet I am passionate about it, I have a writing sample that is historical. I did have one great course of history of international relations, received the best essay award in the grade.
Do any of you have experience of receiving an offer from a different subject than you did your undergraduates?
Would love to hear from you.

Hello, I can see no reason why you shouldn't be a competitive candidate. The subject you studied as an undergraduate is related to the subject you hope to study as a graduate. Good luck!

You can definitely do this. I was accepted into an Oxford MSt history strand after getting my BA in political science.
