UCAS 5th option

If you're adding your 5th option after sending off your UCAS is it true that you cannot respond (reject or accept) any offers if you're still going to put in the 5th?

Also is there a time limit to when you need to respond to offers?

Yes, you can still add your 5th choice after sending off your UCAS, and it does not stop you from replying to offers. Adding the final choice doesn’t freeze your application in any way.
There is a time limit for replying to offers, but it’s based on when you receive all your decisions. UCAS will show your personal reply deadline in your UCAS Hub. As long as you reply before that date, you’re fine.

Please be aware that once you have entered a Firm and Insurance, all your other choices disappear - including any remaining blank choices.

There is no urgency about making your Firm / Insurance choices - you gain nothing by doing this, Unis don't care/notice when you 'went Firm' and it does not influence any other decision they may make later on. You have until January to add another choice, and until May to make your Firm/Insurance choices from any offers you then hold. Don't rush either decision.
