Looking for friends on UoS Open Day

Hey, I'm going to Sheffield Uni on the 22nd to have look at their Linguistics, Modern Languages + Cultures stuff. I'm specifically looking at Russian and/or Czech to study.

Would anyone be interested in meeting me and hanging out? I'm not sure when I'll arrive but I'll spend quite a while in Linguistics and I'm doing both the MFL and linguistics talks

Hi @leeloveslanguage

I hope you are well! Meeting new people and getting to know them is an excellent thing to do at an open day for a university! You will find that a lot of people that are going are thinking the same thing as you and will want to get to know lots of people in and around the uni at the open day!

My advice would be to just speak to as many people as you can no matter who they are because you never know how well you will get along with them! Some of the people I have met along the way at uni have been people that I didn't know whether I should approach at first however when I started speaking to them and getting to know them, we got on very well and now I call them very good mates!

The open day will have plenty of opportunities for you to get to know so many people such as staff, students, locals etc and I hope that a few other people that will be attending the same open day can respond to this message. Just be yourself and I am sure you will be absolutely fine! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions, I am more than happy to help!

Thanks, Matt 🙂
