Can I request to receive my postgraduate loan all at once?

I'm applying for postgraduate studies at the moment and was wondering if I would be able to ask for the £12,858 postgrad loan to be paid into my account at the start of the academic year so that I can pay my student tuition fee in one go? I'm worried about having to balance the cost of tuition fee instalments and rent instalments at the same time whilst waiting for the student finance to trickle through.
