The open degree with credit transfer : I need HELP! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO PICK?

UPDATE!:

just thought id come on and update, I have been back and forth with the open university, the staff have been so helpful, I've decided Im picking the biology modules to do the biology side of the degree. It been my favourite part of science and I think with my past studies this is the best route. Ive also decided not to take the full amount of credits transferred as id like to complete stage 2 and 3 myself. Thank you to those that gave me advice.

Kind Regards

Hi,

so I was studying to be a student nurse and due to reasons out of my control I wasn't able to complete it. i was one assignment and placement off finishing year 2 so I had alot of credits from my completed modules. I had a credit transfer granted. but wasn't able to do the education degree (primary) I was however awarded 180 credits for the open degree Bachelors of Arts or bachelors of science. now I have tried researching and even contacted the uni and its not been very helpful. not their fault they just couldn't help me. I don't know what modules to take to get where I want to go. I don't want to pick wrong incase I can't then use it and it's then useless for my future. but I would like to be a teacher or work in science possibly. I have wanted to either be an English, science or health and social care teacher as that's where my passion is but also the idea to work in science and research intrigues me. Now I've applied for the feb 26 start but im scared of messing up picking modules and there are so many to pick from. I don't even know where to start so I need some guidance about how to navigate this as I've looked on the national careers service as advised and it just wasn't helpful at all.

Thanks in advance

Hi! Since you’re interested in either teaching or working in science/research, it’s important to think about which path excites you more. For teaching, look for modules related to education, child development, or even pedagogy. If you’re leaning more towards science or research, focus on modules that involve research methods, data analysis, or specific scientific fields that interest you.
You might also want to check the specific requirements for teaching or science-based careers. For teaching, modules in educational theory would be useful, while for research, you could look into more specialised science subjects or even research methodology. It would help to consider which route feels more aligned with your passions and future goals.
If you’re unsure, try reaching out to a course advisor again, as they can guide you on how to align your existing credits with your career ambitions. Try to choose modules that give you flexibility, such as ones that build transferable skills like critical thinking and communication, in case your interests shift as you go along. Don’t worry too much about getting it perfect there’s room to adjust as you learn more.

Thank you for your reply, I've got to pick my first module and I was panicking about what to pick, I like both routes, I like learning new things and I do enjoy science but I've also always liked the idea of becoming a teacher. I miss nursing alot and everything that came with it, the knowledge and the work. its just so hard to chose, but thank you so much this has helped me alot.
Kind Regards
