Contextual offers at Russel groups

My school just told me that being predicted really high like A*AA may mean (Russel) universities don't give me a contextual offer for law even though I meet the contextual requirements and completed a desired widening participation programme on their website, or they may only bring it down by like 1 grade instead of their stated 2 or 3 grades.

So when I asked if they were to keep it at A*AB , which is more realistic, they say it's not competitive enough for law at Russels. It's making me second guess my options bc no matter either predicted grade they're finding a problem with it 😭 what's the point of not applying to aspirational unis where I am legible for good contextuals

They are talking nonsense about contextual offers.
More cobblers from a school. Contextual offers have no relation to your predicted grades.

Tell them to keep up to date with their UCAS training.

So let's say I'm predicted A*AB and apply to UCL law which is a standard A*AA, however I'm eligible for a contextual of AAB as I am a free school meal student in a UK state school. Does it make sense to apply
