Anyone here studying A-Level Marine Science and taking exams in 2026?

How have you found the course and what revision tips do you have? Many thanks

This is a very rare a level to be doing unfortunately, i hope you find someone to chat to about it 🙂 I do env sci and am in a similar position, i can never find anyone who studies it!

Thanks,

Its an international A level so I guess many UK students don't do it sadly - it is fascinating.

I thought about enrolling onto environmental science but feel now we are already into November, and mock exams underway - its too late to start a new A level now. How do find your A-Level? What do you plan to study at university?

That makes sense, it’s a shame that subjects like that are not offered more widely because im sure a lot of people would love to study them!
I love env sci, it’s so broad and covers loads of current issues from a very science-oriented view. So far ive started both the living env and physical env topics and we’ve done the atmosphere, green house gases and legislation on them, ecological succession, conditions for life on earth and lots to do with the different spheres of earth (eg: cryosphere).
Im hoping to do ecology or zoology at uni 🙂 What are you hoping to do after a levels?

I hope to study Geography and Marine Biology, the ocean fascinates me and I love learning about our planet.

Zoology sounds fun, what do you learn in that subject?

Very cool aspiration! I also love learning about the ocean, do you have a favourite ocean-related fact?
Zoology is basically the study of all things animal related so it covers evolution, animal behaviour, animal physiology, ecology etc

I find it fascinating how carbon and atmosphere gases mix into ocean water.

You must love animals, you could easily become a vet. Do you want to work in a zoo? Is there any particular animal you are fascinated by?

Oh ocean acidification? Thats really cool. My favourite ocean fact is also to do with that because its that Christmas tree worms have calcium carbonate shells which they secrete from their bodies after eating sand and these shells are degraded by ocean water so can be used as proxy data for measuring ocean acidification 😁
Id love to work in a zoo, especially if they are big on conservation work 🙂 I like all animals but bugs especially
