volunteering med

hey guys,

i do volunteering at a hospital and its nearing 6 months I was wondering how long I would need to keep doing it in order for it to be relevant in my application for med school? As much as I love being a volunteer I am just way too tired and I end up wasting a whole day because of it (since the hospital is quite far away) and I feel like I should take the time to do something else either volunteering close to home (although this is difficult to find) or just find another thing I'd rather do instead. If you have any ideas on what I can do other than volunteering I would appreciate anything at all! + How long would I need to volunteer for in order to show my commitment to medicine as a career/degree?

thanks,

tbh i think 6 months is more than enough to be relevant for ur application for med school (at a hospital even!! its impressive). all that really matters is if you can reflect on what youve learnt or done during volunteering. the people reading ur application wont be thinking ab how long uve done volunteering for but rather how it helped you develop or what you learnt from it etc etc.

and itd be a good idea if u did something else too! itd help your med app. stand out.

6 months is a long time and as you say it is a very big commitment on your time.
