Hi.

Congrats on your predicated grades, these are good!

I'm Sid, currently studying LLB Law w/ international business at the University of Reading.

Reading is a respected institution, and the Law programme. However, what sets UoR apart is how it looks at the whole person, not just their academic record. They genuinely value potential, motivation, and your individual journey - this is what u can mention in your application or by contacting our admission team.

Our main LLB Law degree you'll find a lot of flexibility and support. You can tailor your studies with optional modules in areas like commercial law.

I actually did a foundation year in business, then switched to law, however we do offer a foundation in law (lower grades for entry), within the law foundation year - as some people took it on my course, you will get a key introduction to law, this will help you to get the best mark at the end of your degree, you will learn not only about the English legal system also about related and interesting subjects essential such as sociology - all about how the word works and the people that live within our society and much more - see more via the link below / https://www.reading.ac.uk/ready-to-study/study/subject-area/law-ug/llb-law-international-foundation-year

However, looking at your grades i would certainly apply even for our main program, but I would contact admissions before, you already doing law at a level will help support your application and it’s more about what sets you apart in regards to any experience or the reasoning behind your course option - something you will say in your personal statement. And just being one grade down, should be fine as long as you can demonstrate the above, although every case is different for our admissions team and I can’t directly indicate an outcome, I would recommend contracting our admissions team via email as they will be best placed and authorised to advise here - [email protected]

The Careers Team and Law School regularly host events, insight days, and employer talks to help you explore different legal paths.

There's a clear focus on helping you prepare for your future, whether that's becoming a solicitor, barrister, or working in a related field. The legal sector needs more diverse backgrounds in the representation of the society the legal system impacts.

Outside of academics, Reading offers a vibrant social scene. There are over 100 student societies, including the Law Society, which organises mooting competitions, socials, networking events and more. Plus, the university hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including club nights and career fairs, so there's always something
going on.

If you have any more questions about the course, foundation year, or student life at Reading, feel free to reply to this message, l'a be happy to help!

Kind Regards,
Sid
