Unique Academic History Help

Heya guys! I'm in a bit of a unique situation. Due to ongoing mental health issues, I only have four GCSEs (Eng Lit: 9; Eng Lang: 8; Art: 8; Maths: 4; and I only attended one Lit exam and did not do my art exam). Additionally, I am in my third year of A-Levels now which will leave me with: an AS in Philosophy (B); English Lit & Lang A Level; Art & Design A Level; and HALF of an Applied Law Diploma (I got a Distinction in my end-of-year exam but this does not equal an actual, credible grade despite still being on my UCAS).

I am hoping that my clear potential will be realised - especially if I manage to bag good grades in Art and English this exam season, along with my personal statement. I went to the Brighton open day on Saturday and loved it SO much, especially the English Literature course! The usual grades they require is BCC and I'm predicted AA - do you think they will realise my potential through my profile or just dismiss me because of my erratic academic history? Obviously this is all just speculation because anything could happen and clearing is always an option but if anyone has had a similar experience to me then I'd love to hear about it!

Thanks so much! x

Hi @fedyasugar ! Its great to hear your interested in Brighton and that you had a good time at our open day!

For our English lit courses, we aim to run a flexible admissions process, meaning that with the information you have stated, we would happily welcome an application from you! A big selling point for you will be your personal statement. We will be looking to see that you are passionate about the subject and understand what studying it entails, as well as seeing if you have the skills to study.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions.
