A level resit application confusion

Im resitting my entire a levels, and ive offically just payed of my 3rd a level.

Im confused on how i would apply to university this year. I genuinely dont have the finance to afford predicted grade mocks by december, and no centre near me does predicted grades past that december mocks. By this i mean if any centre did spring mocks, and still gave out predicted grades, i was hoping to send out a late application 🤞.

Should i still send out ucas applications? Or apply through clearing, but do good universities even accept clearing for competitive course, like Electrical Engineering?

Talk to your old school and see if they will submit a reference and predicted grades for you.

You then make sure that your UCAS application has both the grades you achieved detailed under qualifications AND the retakes you are applying for are added as "awaiting result"

That way the Unis can see your existing grades (and consider you for an unconditional offer) and can still offer you a conditional offer based on the results that are pending.

Your old school really should be able to help you here. Good luck.

You don't need any of this stuff. Unis will still accept applications from those doing resits without predicted grades. As above, first contact your last school. Most will allow re-sitters to apply through their UCAS portal and will complete your reference and suggest likely grades. Contact the Head of Sixth or similar and ask.

There are some black-market set ups out there charging ££ for 'predicted grades' and references where they have no knowledge of the academic ability of applicants - they are totally fake - and Unis can spot them a mile off. Don't waste you cash. Email your intended Unis and explain your situation. They will be sympathetic - 'unsupported resits' are very common, and all of them will have a process for dealing with this.
