University Acceptance

Hi, I am a year 13 student applying for PPE entry this December.
My main concern is my GCSES holding me back from getting into top unis
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what my chances look like for each of these unis based off of my stats.

Stats
GCSE: 8,8,8,7,7,7,7,6,6 (6’s in english lit and physics)
Predicted A-levels: A*A*A (RS, History, Maths)
Non contextual applicant
I have a pretty good personal statement, having been given feedback from family members as well as school teachers.

Unis
The unis I am considering applying to are:
Uni of Warwick (PPE) A*AA
Uni of Manchester (PPE) AAA
UCL (Politics and international relations) AAA
KCL (PPE) A*AA
Uni of York (PPE) ABB

- I would mainly like to know my chances of getting an offer back from these unis given my slight poor performance in my gcses
- any advice would be appreciated, thanks!!

It's always helpful to post the grade requirements of each uni.

There’s nothing wrong with your GCSES. The only reason they would hold you back is if their course specifies that you need higher GCSES. The only unis that really care about having the top GCSES are Oxbridge

Okay, thanks!
I just wasn't sure on whether these unis would care a lot, considering they see competitive and have a lot of applicants per year.
Thank you, and fingers crossed I get in!!

For my cohort, I was definitely somewhere in the middle, more towards the higher end.
Probably in the top 30-40% at my school?

Sorry I misread the thing about 8 for English Lang.

If your main concern is Warwick PPE, your profile actually looks quite solid. Having a couple of 6s at GCSE is usually not something that blocks you from being considered. Warwick tends to focus more on your A-level performance and how you express your interest in PPE in your personal statement. Your predicted AAA is definitely strong for this course.

Your subject choices fit really well with what Warwick looks for. Since you already received good feedback on your personal statement, that is also a positive. You do have a realistic chance of getting an offer, although nothing is ever guaranteed because Warwick PPE is quite popular.

If Warwick is one of your top choices, your current grades are strong enough to make a proper application without worrying too much about the GCSE side.

I have 9999877666 as my GCSEs with a 8 in Maths
My A levels are A*A*A in Economics, History and Geography
I'm worried that I will be badly disadvantaged by not doing A-Level Maths, do you think this will be the case?

I got an offer from York for and Leeds for Mbiol and my GCSES are lower than that so please don’t stress. Everything is holistically assessed so your ps and A level predicted grades (which are phenomenal) will outweigh ur GCSE’s, again ur GCSE’s are mostly A’s to don’t stress
