UCAS Reference help

Hello, I need help regarding my UCAS reference. I'm on my second gap year and applying for university. I did all the application but only need a reference but the only issue is that I'm not in contact with my school and my employer doesn't really know how to do it and what to write and I don't want my application to be bad because of it. I can maybe contact one of my old teachers, but idk if they will be able to provide one, and they don't really know what to write for it.
What stuff do you need to include in a reference, and how long should it be?

What can I do in this situation? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You might want to reach out to your school first and see if they're willing to provide you a reference. Failing that, then you should reach out to your unis ASAP and clarify that a reference from your current employer is acceptable.

When UCAS emails your reference provider they'll include all the relevant details and guidance to help them fill it out, but it's very simple anyway because the reference is broken into pretty self-explanatory sections, and I don't believe it's meant to be super long (my sixth form reference fit in a single piece of paper). But all of this info and a lot more will be provided to your reference provider in order to help them, you don't need to give them any guidance, unless they ask you why you want to study this course, any extenuating circumstances, etc etc - but do wait for them to ask you first!

I messaged a teacher and told her all relevant info, and she is able to do the reference. Would WP status be needed to put on the reference? My postcode is WP, and that's in my UCAS account.

There is no section for widening participation in the UCAS reference. I believe the postcode might be picked up automatically from your UCAS application but it might be worth reaching out to your unis to see if there's a separate form you need to submit to do with WP.
