Second masters loan

Hey, im currently thinking of withdrawing from my masters as my mental health is so bad and currently going through the process of an adhd diagnosis.

As well, midway through the year I dealt with bereavement and loss, which I think has contributed to my poor mental health. But this happened before starting my masters so I don’t think I could include this?! though this last year has been so tough due to this and various reasons (all of which I think has just exacerbated my mental health and gotten me to this point)

If I withdraw but would want to do a masters again in the future, what is the likelihood of SFE accepting these grounds for eligibility for second PG loan?

I’m aware that I need evidence and show I withdrew due to compelling personal reasons (CPR). Just want to know if anyone else has gone through something similar and if they were successful in their application for second funding.

Hi there. We cannot comment on how likely it would be for your CPR to be accepted. You can apply for it if you have any extenuating circumstance that prevents you from completing the course.

For the evidence, we can accept photocopies of the following;

-Letter from a GP on headed paper
-Letter from University on headed paper
-Letter from Social Services on headed paper
-Letter from clergy or professional person on headed paper
-Death Certificate and/or a Birth Certificate

The evidence must be;

- Signed and dated
-Confirms the reason why you could not continue with your studies, how your condition impacted your ability to study and
- When this took place

You will also need to send this with a letter from yourself explaining what has happened, in your own words.

You are right in saying if the death in your family took place before the start of the year, they won't accept this on it's own. It must have taken place within your Academic Year. However, if you were getting a Doctor letter for example, it can certainly be put down as a contributing factor. Thanks, Leah.
