hi im in y13 so i can give you some idea of key dates.
my school had mocks (for pred grades) in april after easter and these grades were basically used for oxbridge applications. i think from june / july onwards is good time to research and read books for your personal statement and begin preparing for admission tests if you have any and have an idea when to book.
oxbridge deadline is mid october and general is in jan.
hope that helps!
