Imperial entry requirements

Hi everyone,

I recently applied to Imperial for Mechanical Engineering, and my predicted grades are ABB. I know this is quite below the typical entry requirement of A*A*A, but I haven’t taken the ESAT yet — I’m scheduled to sit it in January.

My question is: if I achieve a strong ESAT score, could it compensate for my lower predicted grades and improve my chances of being invited for an interview or receiving an offer?

ABB is quite low I'm afraid, are these your predicted grades or your UCAS grades? In most cases, UCAS grades could be one grade higher than predicted grade. I haven't heard of anyone get an offer with predicted grades more than 2 grades lower than the entry requirement.

Nevertheless, if you get >8.5 in the ESAT, I suppose that could potentially compensate for it. It is not worth relying on this though...
