sixth form entry requirements with SEND

Hello!

I would really appreciate anyone's help or experience. I'm currently in year 10 at a specialist school but I am very academically able. I am doing 5 gcse's ( the max i can do at my school) and I work really hard for them (doing 2-3 hours revision per day because I know how much i've missed).

I unfortunately missed about 19 months of secondary school (year 7-9 ) due to autism and mental health needs. Before this I was the top of the class etc. Of course this means I have missed a lot, even though I tried to teach myself at home.

At the moment I am predicted up to grade 8/9 in some subjects, though the problem is I only have 5 gcses, which for some sixth forms isnt enough. I obviously have missed a lot of school so I was wondering if sixth forms would take this into account and still accept me if they require 6 gcse's, as I do have a very good work ethic. The sixth forms I am looking at do state they accept extraneous circumstances and they can be flexible.

So I was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice. Thank you!

hey I did 5 and got average grades,

fun fact- the entry requirements for a level subjects are points which are calculated by your top 5 GCSE grades- so if you've got goof grades you won't even need EC lool,

I didnt but my college let me do all the a level I wanted despite being under qualified, I also dropped out with autism, except I did my gcses in a college and in 3 months- i do not recommend,

I left college, passed all, even got 2 A*

You've got this!

And remember if a college doesn't accept you for that, they won't be a good fit as they clearly aren't willing to accommodate and support people properly- it may also be considered discrimination
