Can I get into oxbridge with my GCSEs?

I have been really anxious about this but I really need some brutal honesty. For my GCSEs I got 2 9s 7 7s and a 6 and a 5. Should I even apply? I’m in year 12 right now and I kinda feel like a should but I also feel as though I stand no chance. I want to do medicine so this makes it feel even more impossible. Pls give some good advice.

Hi! I’m only a current applicant so please don’t take what I say as 100% accurate!
You meet the requirements so it definitely isn’t impossible.
That being said, I applied this year for bio and was rejected with below average for Oxbridge (9998887776 at GCSEs)and A*A*A predicted - but it isn’t all down to gcses. Other parts of your application (especially UCAT for you) are equally as important so please don’t think gcses will end your chances.
Personally, I’d say that there isn’t harm in trying if you are set on it, but of course gcses can alter your chances but only as much as other parts of your application.
If anyone else thinks differently that is more qualified than me lol then please disregard my opinion! Best of luck to you 💗

For Cambridge (not sure about Oxford) if you get predicted say 3 A* plus a high ucat you will prob get invited for an interview as they seem to invite 80% of applicants basically anyone that they think is capable but then you will have to smash the interview
