Study A Year Abroad - Kyoto University??

So*my*undergrad*course*at KCL allows*me*to*study*a*year abroad*but*it’s*quite*limited.*At*first*I*thought*America/Canada*but*since*I’m*funding*the*whole*thing myself*without my parents I*won’t*survive*out*there*financially.*
So*my*next option*was*Japan*at*Kyoto*University.*I*just*wanted*to ask*what*other*people’s*experience*is*like?*What*to look*out*for?*What*you*wish*you*knew?*What*you loved about*it?*Is*it*ultimately*worth*it?*The*good, the bad and*the*ugly.
I’ve*never*been*to*Japan*and*I*don’t*know*a*huge amount*of*things*or*the*language*which*scares*me but*I*get*a*weird*feeling*I’ll*love*it*there.*I*just*don’t know*if*I’m*making*the*right*decision and just stay at home in London and go uni.

I would really think about your finances first before planning the trip. Can the university sponsor or assist with funding?

Hi, I’ve already done the finances for it and I will have more than enough to study there for a year. I’m just more afraid of being that far away from home in a completely different culture that I’m afraid of not fitting in. And ofc the school.
