Does this affect my application?

Long story but, i resat year 12 as my old sixth form refused to let me continue due to getting triple Us during my AS results. Which fyi i was extremely sick during the exams, not that it prove i could have done well without it. But i basically slept during my biology and maths exam as i felt dizzy and sick to the core. I did email my school but they personally thought that i was better of leaving and restarting somewhere else. I probably could have done something about it and stood my ground but it was a very stressful time and i was honestly in a terrible mindest after that hiccup. Anyways i restarted year 12 in a diff college. Pretty much a normal year, did much better. However they didn’t do official year 12 AS exams, just mocks like most schools, so i don’t have any of that to potentially put down. I’m currently on ABB/AAB predicted for ucas. Yet i’ve realised that every single qualification that has been done with an exam board or officially needs to be put down. Would the UUU from my previous year 12 affect the way universities may view my application?

Hi there,

First off, its so great to hear that you are now feeling better and have managed to improve to ABB/AAB - this is an incredible improvement which you should feel extremely proud of!

I would recommend ringing up the admissions teams of the unis you are interested in and asking them this question so they can guide you on the specific stance they take on resits. All I'd say though is that the huge majority of unis in the UK do accept resits and having resat a year/a few subjects would not impact your application.

Hoping this helps a bit, best of luck!

Thank you!! This truly does help. I’ve emailed a few and I’m waiting on replies currently. But if it’s okay asking, does University of Bath consider year 12 resits??

Hi there!

I'm glad we were able to help a bit. Yes, here at Bath we consider resits as a whole without any issues and many other unis will also do so 🙂
